The Playlists

You may have noticed that for some time, most of my blog titles are lyrics from songs.  Those who know me well know my love and affection for all sorts of music, and I thought it would be an interesting tweak on the whole blogging thing.  I also get an email every once in a while asking what song I am referencing.  So, I thought of two things – one, I will keep a ‘playlist’ of all the songs that make it into my blog titles here.  Also, a second playlist – songs that have been rummaging through my head, both new and old when I update this.  So, here goes!

Blog Title Playlist

  • Ocean Breathes Salty, Modest Mouse
  • Girl, You’ll Be A Woman Soon, Neil Diamond (and Urge Overkill on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack)
  • Santa Claus is Coming To Town, Burl Ives (and every child in public school)
  • Different Names For The Same Thing, Death Cab For Cutie
  • Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better, Doris Day and Robert Goulet
  • I Will Possess Your Heart, Death Cab For Cutie
  • When Something Stands For Nothing, Headstones
  • It’s The End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine…), R.E.M.
  • Verse, Chorus, Verse, Nirvana
  • Long May You Run, Neil Young
  • The Hockey Song, Stompin’ Tom Conners
  • Mind Eraser, No Chaser, Them Crooked Vultures
  • Black Sheep, Metric
  • Revolution, The Beatles
  • Change (In The House of Flies), Deftones
  • Help, I’m Alive, Metric

Nik’s Personal Playlist (right now…)

  • This month, I’m listening to a lot of Metric, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, Tool and Christmas Songs.  Weird mix, yes….but it’s my ears!
